Dr. Sarah Shih is a board certified periodontist who practices with general and restorative dentists in the towns of Boston (in the North End), Wayland, Bedford, Worcester and Upton. This allows us to deliver a superior level of communication between your general dentist and periodontist resulting in better comprehensive patient care.

We offer a wide range of periodontal services and dental implant procedures including treating areas of periodontal disease and bone loss, restoring bone in order to place dental implants and gum grafts to cover roots, decrease sensitivity and improve cosmetic periodontal results by using your own tissue or Alloderm®.  Dr. Shih has extensive experience with these techniques.  Whatever your periodontal needs, our staff will do our very best to insure that you are informed, comfortable and relaxed.

Dr. Shih also treats children who have minor periodontal needs such as exposing impacted teeth for orthodontics and frenectomy procedures to prevent spacing between the teeth.  Our gentle staff will make everything as easy as possible for your child.  We love seeing children in our office!

Dr. Sarah Shih has been in practice for over 20 years and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, the only recognized specialty board in her field.  Dr. Shih is also on the faculty of Harvard School of Dental Medicine and serves as a peer reviewer for the Journal of Periodontology in the areas of periodontal cosmetic surgery, gum grafting and the molecular biology of bone regeneration.
